When motorists use the eastbound Interstate 4 (I-4) on-ramp from Lee Road (State Road 423) on Tuesday morning, they will notice a longer journey to reach I-4.

The new temporary alignment of the on-ramp will extend for one mile before joining eastbound I-4. This temporary alignment will be in place for about a week until a traffic shift of all eastbound I-4 lanes between Lee Road and Maitland Boulevard is completed, as early as December 18.

The eastbound I-4 traffic shift scheduled for later this month is significant milestone for the I-4 Ultimate project. The shift marks the first opportunity for motorists to drive on the new travel lanes of eastbound I-4.

A handout detailing both upcoming traffic shifts — eastbound I-4 on-ramp from Lee Road and eastbound I-4 between Lee Road and Maitland Boulevard — is available online to view or download at: fdot.tips/LeeEBI4Ramp

Modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving through the work zone.
