Construction work on the I-4 Ultimate Improvement Project is making great strides toward its end goal of a better I-4. Many features, such as eastbound general use lanes, and interchanges and ramps throughout the work zone, are already in or moving into their final configurations. I-4 has undergone a tremendous transformation over the past few years and will continue to take shape as work continues across the 21-mile stretch of Central Florida’s most vital transportation artery.
Watch the Project Update video.
Motorists should practice safe driving habits in the work zone, such as paying attention to the road and their surroundings. Before heading out on the road, you can sign up for personalized text or email alerts for advanced notification of construction impacts. Those interested in employment opportunities with the I-4 Ultimate team can learn more and find out how to apply at Working on I-4.
Work is also underway on the I-4 Beyond the Ultimate Improvement Project, which will make improvements to 40 miles of I-4 — 20 miles east and 20 miles west of the I-4 Ultimate Project. This project, unlike I-4 Ultimate, will take a phased approach, addressing the areas with the greatest needs first. View the I-4 Beyond the Ultimate Project Info & Map to find out more.
