I-4 Ultimate Project Continues to Progress

Construction work on the I-4 Ultimate Improvement Project is nearing completion. All along the 21-mile stretch, general-use lanes, interchanges, and ramps are in their final configurations. Pedestrian features such as tunnels and bridges have been moved into place. I-4 has undergone a tremendous transformation over the past few years and will continue to take shape as work wraps up across Central Florida’s most vital transportation artery.

I-4 Express is now open. There when you need it, I-4 Express is two tolled managed lanes in each direction in the center of I-4 spanning 21 miles from west of Kirkman Road (State Road 435) to east of State Road 434.

I-4 Beyond the Ultimate logoWork is also underway on the I-4 Beyond the Ultimate Improvement Project, which will make improvements to 40 miles of I-4 — 20 miles east and 20 miles west of the I-4 Ultimate Project. This project, unlike I-4 Ultimate, will take a phased approach, addressing the areas with the greatest needs first. View the I-4 Beyond the Ultimate Project Info & Map to find out more.
