Ivanhoe Ramp Closure Information

Last updated: 6/3/2015

As part of the I-4 Ultimate improvement project, the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is eliminating the eastbound Ivanhoe Boulevard exit ramp. Closure of the eastbound exit ramp is expected on Sunday June 21, 2015. The new design limits the amount of space in the area to widen Interstate 4 (I-4), reconstruct the interchange and install necessary drainage. The eastbound entrance ramp onto I-4 from Ivanhoe Boulevard will remain.

To ensure drivers can still get where they need to go, permanent improvements are also planned for the Princeton Street interchange. FDOT is adding a lane to the exit ramp, allowing for two right-hand and two left hand turn lanes onto Princeton Street. Drivers will also notice additional auxiliary lanes on I-4 eastbound from Colonial Drive to Fairbanks Avenue, which will help improve traffic flow through the area. Improvements to the Amelia Street and Colonial Drive exits, along with a realignment of Garland Avenue, will contribute to enhanced mobility in the downtown area.
