The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is shifting eastbound Maitland Boulevard (State Road 414) lanes onto new flyover bridges between Maitland Summit Boulevard and the westbound Interstate 4 (I-4) entrance ramp early Saturday morning, February 4.
The shift relocates traffic onto nearly two miles of newly paved roadway and adds an additional lane to increase capacity and help reduce congestion in the area.
As part of this movement, eastbound Maitland Boulevard will allow free-flow traffic starting from State Road (S.R.) 434 to the I-4 access ramps.
To accommodate the shift, FDOT will temporarily close lanes along eastbound Maitland Boulevard between Maitland Summit Boulevard and Lake Destiny Road. The lane closures are scheduled to begin as soon as 9 p.m. Monday, February 3. All the new elevated lanes are expected to be open to traffic by 5:30 a.m. Tuesday morning.
Drivers should maintain a safe speed when driving through the work zone. Sign up for construction updates and alerts at https://i4ultimate.com/signup/.
