The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is scheduling a traffic pacing operation between midnight and 5 a.m. the morning of Saturday, January 30, on eastbound Interstate 4 (I-4) from Florida’s Turnpike to Michigan Street.
During the operation, eastbound I-4 entrance ramps between these limits will be temporarily blocked by law enforcement officers to ensure no vehicles jump ahead of the traffic pacing operation. As the pace car passes each interchange, the corresponding entrance ramp onto eastbound I-4 will be reopened to allow motorists to enter and join the slow roll.
The traffic pacing operation and temporary ramp closures are necessary to install an overhead sign.
The eastbound I-4 entrance ramps that will be temporarily closed include: Florida’s Turnpike, Conroy Road, John Young Parkway, and Orange Blossom Trail (U.S. 441/17-92).
