A traffic pacing operation is scheduled to occur between midnight and 5 a.m. the morning of October 19 on eastbound Interstate 4 (I-4) from Apopka-Vineland Road and Kirkman Road. During the operation, eastbound I-4 entrance ramps between these limits will be temporarily blocked by law enforcement officers to ensure no vehicles jump ahead of the traffic pacing operation.

The ramps include: Apopka Vineland Road, Beachline Expressway (state Road 528), and Sand Lake Road (State Road 482).

As the pace car passes each interchange, the corresponding entrance ramp onto eastbound I-4 will be reopened to allow motorists to enter and join the slow roll. The traffic pacing operation and temporary ramp closures will create a 30-minute window for crews to install an overhead sign truss.

Please view or download this handout detailing the traffic pacing operation and ramp closures.

Modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving through the work zone.

Motorists are encouraged to follow @I4Ultimate on Twitter or visit for construction updates throughout the corridor.
