How Express Lanes Are Keeping Traffic Moving in Florida

Express Lanes have proven popular throughout the country and right here in Florida, with Miami-Dade County’s conversion of high-occupancy vehicle lanes on I-95 to Express Lanes and Broward County’s construction of the 595 Express. SunRail: A Great Alternative to I-4

Exciting things are happening in Central Florida. After years of construction, SunRail has officially launched its commuter train service. An estimated 11,000 people showed up the first day to witness this revolutionary moment in Central Florida history and be among the first passengers to ride the mass transit system. With I-4 Ultimate construction starting soon, SunRail will be a great alternative for those who want to avoid traffic. This marks a huge milestone for Central Florida and proves that even greater things are in the works to keep this region moving forward.

FDOT’s Vision for Congestion Management

Managed lanes, or Express Lanes, are becoming increasingly attractive options for managing congestion, adding capacity to limited-access roads and providing choices to drivers. FDOT is partnering with government agencies across the state to find ways to offer Florida drivers new and reliable mobility choices for a connected Express Lanes system in a consistent, predictable and repeatable (CPR) manner.
