FROM LATE-APRIL TO EARLY MAY, ALL EASTBOUND LANES OF FAIRBANKS AVENUE UNDER I-4 WILL BE CLOSED NIGHTLY WITH ONE LANE OPEN WESTBOUND. FROM EARLY MAY TO MID-MAY, ALL WESTBOUND LANES OF FAIRBANKS AVENUE UNDER I-4 WILL BE CLOSED NIGHTLY WITH ONE LANE OPEN EASTBOUND.
The Florida Department of Transportation is temporarily closing the eastbound lanes of Fairbanks Avenue under Interstate 4 (I-4) from mid-April to early May. Following the conclusion of the eastbound Fairbanks Avenue nightly closure, the westbound lanes of Fairbanks Avenue will be closed nightly until mid-May. The closure will be from 10 p.m. each night until 6 a.m. If needed, these closures may occur on weekends. The closures are necessary for bridge work.
STARTING: Westbound on Fairbanks Avenue
Travel westbound on Fairbanks Avenue to the Edgewater Drive (State Road 424) intersection and continue on Fairbanks Avenue to the right. Turn right onto Lee Road (State Road 423). Continue on Lee Road until it meets Orlando Avenue (U.S. Highway 17/92). Turn right on Orlando Avenue and proceed to the end of the detour at Fairbanks Avenue.
STARTING: Eastbound on Fairbanks Avenue
Travel eastbound on Fairbanks Avenue to the Orlando Avenue (U.S. Highway 17/92) intersection and turn left on Orlando Avenue. Turn left onto Lee Road (State Road 423). Continue on Lee Road until the Fairbanks Avenue intersection. Turn left on Fairbanks Avenue. At the Edgewater Drive (State Road 424) intersection, veer left to remain on Fairbanks Avenue. Proceed to the end of the detour.
