The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will shift a half-a-mile of eastbound Interstate 4 (I-4) into its final configuration as soon as Friday, July 31.

The shift, located under State Road (S.R.) 436, is a small portion of I-4, however the milestone of its completion is significant. The shift is the final piece for I-4 in Seminole County to be in its final footprint.

Once the eastbound I-4 shift under S.R. 436 is complete, more than eight contiguous miles of general use lanes for both eastbound and westbound I-4 in Seminole County will be in its final configuration.

To facilitate the shift, FDOT will temporarily close eastbound I-4 between Maitland Boulevard (S.R. 414) and S.R. 436 overnight Monday, July 27.

Modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving through the work zone.
