A new traffic shift on westbound Interstate 4 (I-4) between Florida’s Turnpike and Kirkman Road (State Road 435) is scheduled to open the morning of Friday, December 9.

The traffic shift is approximately two-thirds of a mile long. The shift will move the westbound I-4 traffic lanes to newly paved lanes. As a result of the traffic shift, motorists wishing to exit westbound I-4 to northbound Kirkman Road (Exit 75 B) will need to exit about a quarter mile sooner. To accommodate the traffic shift, motorists should intermittent lane closures on westbound I-4. In addition, Florida’s Turnpike exit ramp (exit 259) to westbound I-4 will be closed from 10 p.m. on Thursday, December 8, until 5 a.m. on Friday, December 9. Modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving through the work zone.
