Visual evidence of progress at the Interstate 4 (I-4) and State Road (S.R.) 408 interchange is becoming clearer with each passing week.

In the past month, girders for several new sections of one flyover ramp have been set in place. The first flyover motorists will notice taking shape is a portion of the flyover ramp from eastbound and westbound I-4 to westbound S.R. 408.

To place the girders, road and ramp closures are often needed. As of May 25, here is a list of nightly ramp closures at the I-4 and S.R. 408 interchange:

  • The eastbound and westbound I-4 exit ramps to eastbound and westbound S.R. 408 are closing from 9 p.m. on May 29 through 6 a.m. on May 30. (Detour Map)
  • The westbound S.R. 408 exit ramp to westbound I-4 is closing from 9 p.m. on May 29 through 6 a.m. on May 30. The ramp closes again on the nights of May 30, May 31 and June 1 from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. (Detour Map)
  • The eastbound S.R. 408 exit ramp to westbound I-4 is closing at 10 p.m. the nights of May 29, May 30, May 31 and June 1. The ramp will reopen the following mornings at 5 a.m. (Detour Map)

Modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving through the work zone.
