The nightly closure of eastbound Interstate 4 (I-4) from Gore Street to State Road (S.R.) 408 has been extended for an additional night. Eastbound I-4 from Gore Street to S.R. 408 will be closed overnight tonight from 12 a.m. to 5 a.m. on Wednesday, September 6.

Motorists must exit eastbound I-4 at South Street (Exit 82B), and then travel northbound on Garland Avenue to reenter eastbound I-4. Law enforcement officers will be monitoring each signaled intersection on the detour route of Garland Avenue between South Street and Colonial Drive (S.R. 50) to promote traffic flow.

During the operation, the eastbound I-4 entrance ramp from eastbound S.R. 408 and the eastbound I-4 exit ramp to Amelia Street also will be closed from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. on September 5-6. The eastbound I-4 entrance ramps from Anderson Street and westbound S.R. 408 will remain open.

The closures will allow construction crews to begin demolishing a portion of the S.R. 408 overpass extending over eastbound I-4. View or download an online map of detour and alternate routes for these closures at:

Modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving through the work zone.
