Nightly pile driving activity in downtown Orlando near the eastbound Interstate 4 (I-4) exit ramp to South Street is tentatively scheduled from mid-October through the end of November. The intermittent activity will occur as early as 10 p.m. and may continue through 5 a.m. the following mornings.

The work must be done at night as the construction zone is adjacent to the eastbound exit to South Street (Exit 82B). At times crews, equipment and building materials will be next to or above the ramp, which will require the ramp to be closed for motorist’s safety.

The I-4 Ultimate project is not permitted to close I-4 ramps during daytime hours. Pile driving activity will not occur on Fridays or Saturdays.

Nearby residents should anticipate loud banging, vibrations, back up alarms and bright lights at night. Learn more about pile driving.

Modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving through the work zone.
