Originally scheduled last week, the half-mile westbound I-4 traffic shift along Lake Ivanhoe was pushed back a week. The long-term traffic shift is relocating the westbound lanes to new temporary lanes between the existing I-4 westbound mainline lanes and the collector distributor road that services the westbound Ivanhoe Boulevard and westbound Colonial Drive entrance and exit ramps.
Due to the complexity of the traffic shift operation, work will occur during the course of two nights. The traffic shift is expected to begin overnight on Saturday, October 3, and be complete overnight Sunday, October 4. The new traffic pattern will be open to drivers Monday morning.
Further modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving through the work zone.
