The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is scheduling a traffic pacing operation between midnight and 5 a.m. Saturday, February 6, on westbound Interstate 4 (I-4) from Maitland Boulevard (State Road 414) to Kaley Avenue.

During the activity, westbound I-4 entrance ramps in these limits will be temporarily blocked by law enforcement officers to ensure no vehicles jump ahead of the traffic pacing operation and traffic will slow to 10 mph. As the pace car passes an interchange, the westbound entrance ramp will be reopened to allow motorists to enter I-4 and join the slow roll.

Ramp closures include the westbound I-4 entrances from westbound Maitland Boulevard, eastbound Maitland Boulevard, Lake Destiny Road, Lee Road, Fairbanks Avenue, Par Street, Princeton Street, Ivanhoe Boulevard, Colonial Drive (S.R. 50), Amelia Street, South Street, S.R. 408, and Gore Street.

Three lanes on westbound I-4 from South Street to Kaley Avenue will also be closed during this time.

The traffic pacing operation and temporary ramp and lane closures are necessary to install overhead signs.

Please view or download this handout detailing the operation and temporary westbound I-4 ramp closures.

Modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving through the work zone.
