The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is scheduling a traffic pacing operation between midnight and 5 a.m. Sunday, January 17, on westbound Interstate 4 (I-4) from Par Street to Orange Blossom Trail (U.S. 441/17-92).

During the activity, westbound I-4 entrance ramps will be temporarily blocked by law enforcement officers to ensure no vehicles jump ahead of the traffic pacing operation and traffic will slow to 10 mph. As the pace car passes an interchange, the westbound entrance ramp will be reopened to allow motorists to enter I-4 and join the slow roll.

Ramp closures include the westbound I-4 entrances from Par Street, Princeton Street, Ivanhoe Boulevard, Colonial Drive (State Road 50), Amelia Street, South Street, Gore Street, S.R. 408, Kaley Avenue, and Orange Blossom Trail.

The traffic pacing operation and temporary ramp closures are necessary to install overhead signs.

Please view or download this handout detailing the operation and temporary westbound I-4 ramp closures.

Modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving through the work zone.
