The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is temporarily closing the Interstate 4 (I-4) westbound entrance ramp from Colonial Drive (State Road 50) as soon as 10 p.m. Sunday, February 2.

After the ramp closes, drivers will need to continue south on Hughey Avenue and enter westbound I-4 from the South Street entrance ramp.

To accommodate additional traffic, a third lane of southbound Hughey Avenue will open between Colonial Drive and South Street. The middle and right lanes of Hughey Avenue at the intersection with South Street will provide access to the westbound I-4 on ramp.

The closure is necessary to allow crews to safely construct the new permanent westbound I-4 lanes through Downtown Orlando. The ramp will reopen in approximately six months.

Modifications or extensions to these schedules may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving through the work zone.
