The Florida Department of Transportation is closing the westbound Interstate 4 (I-4) exit to Fairbanks Avenue (Exit 87) for three weeks starting as soon as 5 a.m. Monday, May 4 through June.
The closure provides space for crews to construct a new temporary westbound I-4 exit to Fairbanks Avenue and new westbound travel lanes. Traffic will shift onto the new bridge over Fairbanks Avenue when the closure is complete, accelerating construction by 1–2 months in this area.
A handout for this closure is available to view, share, and download at https://fdot.tips/2zLvp4V.
Modifications or extensions to this schedule may be necessary because of weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving through the work zone.
