The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will shift westbound Interstate 4 (I-4) between Wymore Road and Maitland Boulevard (State Road 414) to a temporary configuration as early as Wednesday morning, March 11.
The temporary alignment will relocate more than 1.5 miles of westbound I-4 lanes to the center of the I-4 Ultimate construction zone. The shift also will move the WB I-4 exit ramp to Maitland Boulevard (Exit 90) approximately a quarter of a mile sooner.
The change in traffic configuration is necessary for workers to safely build permanent westbound I-4 lanes.
To accommodate the road work and to install sign trusses, westbound I-4 between S.R. 436 and Maitland Boulevard will temporarily close nightly between 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. from March 10 to March 13. During this time, the westbound I-4 entrance ramp from S.R. 436 as well as the westbound I-4 exit ramps to Maitland Boulevard also will be closed.
Please view or download a handout detailing the shift and closure.
Modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving through the work zone.
